My role: Cover design and level design


The journey of Light is a 2D Platform game. The objective is to reach to the end of each levels by using core mechanics like walking, jumping and traverse through light.


We tried different art and music during the development, and we all agreed to use the simple arts for the final result. Each level has its themes of background color. The color of the protagonist itself also changes on a different level. We use the color themes to demonstrate the inner self of the protagonist.

We developed three levels. The first level serves as the tutorial level that teaches players the game's basic mechanics. Players will learn the movement of the light ball in platforms, the light area, and the jump pad. At the end of the tutorial level, players introduced the switch that controls particular objects in the level.

In the second level, we introduced the dead zone, which challenges players. The level will restart if the player dies.

In the last level, we made it difficult to challenge players. The player needs to use everything learned before overcoming multiple challenges and reaching the end.
