Description:
We aimed to design a unitized puzzle game with high frequency feedback. Shorten the long cycle of previous puzzle games and split it into several shorter puzzles. This avoids the long puzzle process that leads to players not getting feedback in time and giving up the game in the middle. And some common sense rules in the real world are applied to the game, making the game as a whole more in line with the player's intuition.
The background story of the game is set in the Middle Ages, an old man was the owner of an old castle, he always liked to go to the underground wine cellar by himself, and didn't let anyone follow, so there are rumors that there is a treasure in the underground wine cellar. After the death of the old man, his grandson heard such rumors and decided to go to the underground cellar to explore the truth. By unlocking the doors by solving the puzzles of the wine cellar, and finally finding the truth of the grandfather's treasure.
Design Problem:
Many factors can affect the playability of a puzzle game, thus affecting the player's motivation and experience in solving puzzles, such as being too simple or too complex in level design and game guidance. We wanted to explore this issue and investigate how to improve players' motivation and experience in the puzzle game, so as to design a good puzzle game.
My role:
Game mechanics development, level design, user interface design, testing.
